you know

You know it's been a long time since you had a pedicure when the first thing your toddler notices when you walk in the door is your new ruby toes AND he rejects your request for a hug hello to instead point and pick at your mysteriously decorated feet and compare them with his own naked nubs.

In other news, this morning I did the unthinkable. As I was tidying up our bathroom, clearing the vanity so that the cleaning woman could, you know, clean, I actually picked up a new roll of toilet paper and put it on the toilet roll holder. Previously anathema, I finally surrendered to the cleaning woman's strategy, and chose to put a fat new roll on instead of having her put a skinny old one on that wouldn't even last two pees after she finished. Because if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.

Hmm, pedicures and toilet paper.

Never would I have expected to see those two items together in the same post.

LOL!

I love getting pedicures, but every time I get a new one, one or both of the boys won't stop pointing at my feet.

I love the big fat rolls of toilet paper.

I have never had a pedicure and I keep reading about the wonders of them. I'll have to spring for one.

You have a cleaning lady?

Never had a pedicure, but I painted my toenails this weekend and obliged Mme L's request that I do the same to her. An hour later she decided that she didn't want her nails painted and, though I removed the offending polish, she has been making out like I held her down and did it against her will. "I asked Mama very nicely, I don't WANT my toes painted."

Sigh.

Oh, Den, don't rub it in. Yes, we have a cleaning woman but she only does a couple of rooms every couple of weeks and I'm pretty conflicted about the whole thing. That said, at least now I know our floors are washed once every two weeks... we're pretty incompetent in that department.

my children think we have cleaning lady...I guess they are correct...sadly. Looks like you've been out-foxed in the toilet paper power struggle.

I NEED a cleaning lady. My children look on those big fat rolls of toilet paper as a personal challenge.

Ooh. Pedicures.

Whenever I change my toe nail polish color, my toddler examines them carefully, too. :-)

i'm with you on both the pedicures and the cleaning ladies. :)

however, i am quite obsessive about changing the toilet paper roll.

The cleaning lady prevails! It was a real battle while it lasted ... but at least you can pee un-anxiously now that the power struggle is over ;-)

As for toes, every time I change the colour, Munchkin spends a day or so trying to eat my toes every chance she gets. Which is cute, but she's got some seriously sharp teeth and finds it very frustrating that I'm not yummy. Oh dear.

you really have to invest in one of those TP holder styles where there is nothing to undo, you just slip the roll on...it saves at least 10 seconds and the whole lack of work thing makes the roll changing prospect much more appealing.
From someone who knows....
