Preparations

It has been a REALLY long time since I have painted my own toenails. I discovered pedicures in New Orleans when I was early in my pregnancy in June 2005, and before that Sugar Daddy painted them. His hands are much steadier than mine, and he does a much better job. But I really can't justify the cost of a pedicure at the moment, and Sugar Daddy and I don't really get that kind of time together.

Now I remember why I don't paint my own toenails.

I totally suck at it, painting most of my toe and then mashing the paint on the nail trying to get the polish off my toe.

Oh well. Still better than naked toenails in sandals, in my opinion. Upon seeing them, Sugar Daddy has suggested a pedicure when we get to SA. (Just kidding - he suggested that when he heard me whining about how I can't paint my toenails, before he saw them.)

We're nearly packed, toenails are mostly painted, just need to see what the weather does now. I see there's a snowfall warning in effect now. I never know whether the warnings are based on worst case scenario better than safe than sorry, or more realistic projections. How bad does it need to get before flights start getting delayed?

I was just logging on to wish you a safe and happy trip! I'm sure you'll be on your way tomorrow, as planned.

And, wow, I thought maybe I was the only woman in the world who sucked at applying nail polish.

My toenails are always messy looking in the summer--I have *never* had a pedicure! But I agree--even messily painted nails look better in sandals then no polish at all!

You're leaving tomorrow?! Yikes! Have a wonderful trip! I'll miss the regular updates--I can't wait to see pictures.

Have a great time! And how bad it gets before flights are delayed depends on where you are - they pull flights down here if we have three flakes on the ground. Flying out of Boston last year, however, we took off in a snowstorm.

You can do it! Have a great flight! We've just flown into and out of blizzards, and they were the smoothest, on-timest flights ever. I'm sending you our good flight karma! Enjoy!

Painting, toenail or otherwise, is something I don't do. I'm just not good at it (although I am getting better about not getting paint all over the ceiling when I paint walls...)

Have a great trip...

A friend of mine, a pedi enthusiast (somehow, it doesn't seem right to call her a pedi-phile), once laughed at my efforts to DIY my own toenails. Out loud. That's how bad I am.

Have a grrreat time!

Oops--experimenting with editting my comments. Anyhow, have a great trip--I am considering a trip this summer to Helsinki, kids and all. I wonder, will the work of travel be worth it?

Ah showers, the friend of every non-steady handed pedicurist. Supremely jealous of your trip, hope you have a blast.
