yuck

I was rudely awakened very, very early this morning (4 a.m. to be precise) by a not-very-familiar but clearly identifiable burbling-slash-retching sound coming from the little person who was wedged against me. This is not a nice sound to wake up to, especially when it's still very very dark. I was pretty impressed with my instincts, though, even if I do say so myself. I leapt upright, and pointed him out of the bed, then traipsed down the hall to the toilet. It doesn't seem to matter what's in front of him though, because I managed to get puked on six times by 7 a.m. He seems to have stopped, and now he's sleeping, hopefully for a long time to get over the very early morning.

This stomach bug comes when I am also sick with a miserable cold. I came home before lunch yesterday I was feeling so rotten and sorry for myself since I did just have a nasty flu a few weeks ago, AND I got woken from my attempted nap yesterday by not one but TWO fucking telemarketers. Let's just hope we can keep our bugs to ourselves...

Is it me, or is there a lot less blogging going on this week? I'm having no trouble keeping up with my bloglines, and that's kind of unusual...

Edited to add: Ugh. Just when I thought we'd put the worst behind us, Swee'pea just christened our new couch in a major way. Any tips for getting puke out of a stainguarded couch? Also, what does one do with a brand-new, vomited-on 2008 Photographer's Market?

I've not blogged as much as usual this week - I've been busy. But yes, there DOES seem to be less blogging than usual. WRITE MORE, EVERYONE!
Sorry about the sick little guy. I hope he's feeling better by now.

Yuck is right. Nothing like spending the week hours getting puked on. Hopefully he feels better soon (and doesn't pass it to you).

It *is* quiet out here this week. I finally managed to visit (almost) all of the blogs in my reader and that almost never happens.

Oh poor you, and poor little him too.

On the weekend I was wondering where everybody went and why they weren't blogging anymore, but it seemed my Bloglines had stopped working. I closed it and re-opened it, and suddenly there were tons of updated blogs.

I hope you are both on the mend soon.

I attribute the decrease in blogging to two factors: spring is starting to hint that it just might possibly come at some point in the future and therefore puddles must be jumped in AND all the students are writing elsewhere while the teachers are up to their asses in marking.

Oh, puke. I know thee well. I'm sorry Sin, it is a terrible way to wake up (and subsequently spend the day).

I haven't been reading until today (well, maybe I snuck in a handful of posts before today) and I've been posting lightly, too. It is spring break here, which is why I've been quiet.

Do you have a Spot Bot? It is like a mini carpet/upholstery cleaner? Works great for puke on the couch. Otherwise, we use Resolve High Traffic foam coupled with a scrub and a vacuum.
