ding dong the witch is dead

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.

For some reason I woke up with that song in my head. I suspect it's related to selling our house last night (well mostly -- still a couple of conditions to waive by Friday), even though I don't think of our house as a witch at all.

Yesterday, I started to wonder if we really wanted to do this, to leave our home and neighbourhood, but of course the decision's already made. The deal on the new house is totally firm, so there's no going back.

And that's ok, really.

In unrelated news, it appears that bloglines has been wonky, so all of a sudden bloggers are showing up with 5 and 10 posts at once. And then I realize that I haven't seen them pop up in a while. So if you've missed me, that's why.

Hooray! Hooray! I'm so impatient that I couldn't wait to see you to find out if the deals went down! So happy to hear that you have one less thing to worry about. On to bigger and brighter things - like your beautiful new bungalow!

I'm happy for your good news.

A bloglines glitch would explain why my blog stats are down lately, and also why it seems like the blogosphere is on vacation already.

Right after we bought our house, we just about had a breakdown because we'd BOUGHT A HOUSE and now we were STUCK.
But yaaaay! for you guys! Have FUN!

Oh Sin, it's eerie how alike we are in the house buying and selling. I totally understand this: you know, I still have dreams of the old house, and wake up confused, and yes, a little disappointed? Everyone calls it a 'fresh start' but it's more a slow transition, mental as much as anything ...

I remember the fear and trepidation of buying our current house over a decade ago. Now it's not so much the concept of buying a house that fills me with dread; it's packing up our mounds of stuff. This is why I live vicariously through bloggers who are moving and stay happily put, resting my feet of various piles of The Stuff That Seems to Multiply. :)

And thank you. That song will now be in my head. All. Night. Long.
