irony

Not one hour after I wrote about Swee'pea's capacity for tenderness, he punched a little girl in the face at his daycare. I don't think it could have been too hard because she didn't cry but she did lose her balance. Swee'pea was utterly unapologetic. He said he didn't want her to come to his cubby -- which, given we were at the front door, was nowhere near the poor girl.

Oh, that is a wee bit hilarious. Maybe it was a warning punch, now when she gets too close to the cubby he can just shake his fist and instill proper respect of his property. ;)

lol. tender but territorial, that seems to be two.

Yikes, eh? There's nothing like the first time that one of your kids hurts another child deliberately to really set you back on your heels (I know this from personal experience).
Two is a fun, fun age.

That's always how it goes, isn't it? Sweetness one moment, face-punching the next :-)

Ah, yes, the logic of two-year-olds. As we approach three I'm hoping for gentler times, aren't you?

Two is a big walking baby.

Typical behavior and has no deep meaning. It felt good at the time!

I'm glad I wasn't the only person who laughed out loud at this.

What a great story. My boy does similar Jekyll/Hyde behavior. I wonder what they are thinking?
