We live in the "rich" neighborhood of our town--bought the one house we saw in our price range--and have seen more Obama signs than McCain, which is encouraging. Even where my in-laws live (with some houses along the line of what you show here), there are more Obama signs. I'd like to think there's a shift where I am and things will stay this way.
I remember you mentioning this photo awhile back and I've been hoping you will post it. Those four garages really do speak louder than words.
(And, by the way, my bedroom is looking awesome since I got my print from Imagekind. I now have a Lunenberg parking metre above my piano on the main floor AND above my bed!)

I think with those garages one sign would be more than enough.
Our friends and neighbours have two largish signs as they live on a corner so one points each direction.
All the other neighbours have liberal signs and are teasing them that only one sign is allowed!
The best house though is a duplex with an Obama and liberal sign on one side and a conservative on the other.
Well sure you can get more excessive. I assume the family's other seven homes have gone to equal lengths to show their support for the dark, errr, Republican side...?

Is anyone else completely pissed off by this election? I can't vote for the Conservatives (way too many reasons to name here). Let's just say I'd turn into an old hag that smelt like mothballs and start eating little children.
But, the Liberals want a carbon tax. Thanks, we already have one in BC. Maybe it's great if you live in a city and need some extra encouragement to use public transportation and buy locally. As for us, we are a northern community. We have to truck a lot of things in. It also makes it more expensive for us to farm (it takes gas to do that) and to get the stuff out of the ground to begin with (getting gas takes a whole lot of gas- just check out my husband's fuel bills- he works in the oil patch). Carbon tax= inflation, especially for those of us with no alternatives. So, maybe we can cope, but what about the lower income families, and struggling farmers up here?
Then there's the NDP. They want to halt production in the Oil Sands. I'm all for taking a closer look at it, but if you want to kill Canada's economy, and especially the economy of the West, go right ahead. Anyone remember the 80s? I lived in Alberta then, and I remember the shape of the economy in those days. Everyone had to move to Ontario. Anyone remember Ontario, the? People in Toronto living in tents?
What the hell is wrong with our politicians? I'm hoping to find some poor independent guy on the ballet. Some guy who didn't have a hope in hell of promoting himself, becuase he wasn't given ample enough time to run, let alone campaign. If not, I'm voting to abstain. I suggest that a lot of other Canadians exercise this option. I'll vote when they give me a decent choice, and time to make it.
You know its bad when I start wishing that Alaska had broken free from the Union and joined Canada, like they've threatened to do many times. I think I could handle Palin over Harper ...just kidding.
I'm betting they use herbicides on that neatly manicured lawn too.

I was just thinking about how startling a photo like that would be. I drive through a wealthy strip and see McCain signs, then I drive through a downright poor strip and see Obama signs.

Ouch ... you know, in my neighbourhood, there are gradations of fancy house. And the fanciest are all Conservative lawn signs. It's disgusting.
And since I just ran a campaign, all I can think is "wow, the conservative candidate has money to piss away, because those signs don't come cheap".
I am so burned out on Canadian politics today, I could cry.

Because they live in a big house and have a bunch of Conservative signs that somehow makes them bad, or the party evil? What if the owner of the house is the president of a large corporation aimed at making the world a greener place... You never know. Oddly enough you, and many of those who commented, seemed alarmed by the Conservatives, yet I shudder whenever I see a NDP sign on someones property - memories of the NDP ruining Ontario I will never forget. Rae days, no Sunday shopping, wicked tax increases... ugh.
Urban Daddy, Conservatives have shitty social policy. In my books, yes, that makes them pretty evil, because I don't believe that money should come at the cost of other people's wellbeing. I wouldn't say that everyone who votes conservative is evil, but it does show their priorities that I find distasteful.
And 8 signs is just overkill, for any party.
If they really meant it, they would have painted their garages up as Conservative signs. I bet they voted Liberal, in the end. ;)
